General Manager I
Sam Houston State University, 2008
"DHL Supply Chain was a good match for me because they really focus on developing their people."
After graduation, I knew I wanted to work for a company that would allow me to move around the country and develop my leadership skills. DHL Supply Chain was a good match for me because they really focus on developing their people. In my time here, I have worked within both our Technology and Automotive sectors and have been able to relocate to a new city. I've also moved from Supervisor to Operations Manager and I recently accepted a promotion to General Manager where I'm running a facility. I look forward to further developing solid operations skills while honing in on my leadership style.

"Since joining the team, I have been continuously challenged and I genuinely enjoy my job."
I wanted to work for DHL Supply Chain because of the people. After interviewing with multiple companies for virtually the same position, I just felt more comfortable with the team at DHL Supply Chain. I made the right choice. Since joining the team, I have been continuously challenged and I genuinely enjoy my job. If I had one piece of advice to give to students looking to join the DHL Supply Chain team, I would stress to them to keep an open mind. Take opportunities as they come to you and you are bound to learn something from the experience.
Operations Manager II
Penn State University, 2009
"I knew by joining this company that I would gain valuable leadership skills and industry knowledge, and my skill set grew tremendously when I was asked to support a start-up."
Three things attracted me to DHL Supply Chain. First, DHL Supply Chain is a large organization, with room to advance and to gain experience in many aspects of the supply chain. Second, DHL Supply Chain is really good at what we do. And third, DHL Supply Chain has a great culture and it seemed like a good fit during my interviews. I've gained experience in Operations as a Supervisor and now as an Operations Manager, in Quality Assurance as a Quality Assurance Coordinator and in Project Management supporting Start Ups as a Project Manager. These roles have enabled me to be promoted into an Operations Manager role and I feel like there are still a lot of great opportunities in front of me. For anyone interested in the Operations Supervisor role, my advice can be summed up in two words: belief and opportunity. Believe in yourself and have confidence in your leadership skills. Don't be afraid to take new opportunities and new challenges as they arise as they will help you grow and progress throughout your career.
Shippensburg University, 2010
"They have a large customer base with endless opportunities and they care about developing each associate."
After graduation, I started as an Operations Supervisor in Retail. For six months, I experienced the intensity of a true Retail peak season, which was a great learning opportunity. After six months, I transferred to our Lifescan facility, a completely new environment in which I could continue to build my skills as a supervisor.
I was attracted to DHL Supply Chain because I could see it was a great company to work for. They have a large customer base with endless opportunities and they care about developing each associate. The exposure you'll have to a variety of people will help you grow into a better leader.
For anyone pursuing the Operations Supervisor role, I would suggest making your mark by being innovative. Do not be shy about bringing new ideas to the table. Your career is shaped by you and only you - be sure to make the most out of it!
