DHL Global Forwarding Houston Facility Update #2
DHL Global Forwarding continues to closely monitor the widespread severe flooding and repercussions caused by Hurricane Harvey. We expect freight forwarding services to be hampered for the foreseeable future as damages to the city will be assessed over the coming days.
Nevertheless, we are glad to report, last Friday, September 1, DHL Global Forwarding’s Houston office reopened and is close to fully operational and is receiving freight. There will be a limited crew handing freight, so your patience is greatly appreciated. As previously reported, our building has withstood the storm thus far and is under both personnel Security and CCTV surveillance and all cargo is safe and intact.
On September 1, Port Houston reopened, while both the George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports reopened on August 30 with limited operations, thus a considerable amount of delays are still expected.
Our colleagues in Dallas continue to assist in handling Air Freight and Los Angeles continues managing Ocean Freight support. Please keep in mind that responses will be slow.
Additional updates will be provided once more details become available. For questions, please contact Houston Station Manager Mike Yazdanyar or call undefined.
