Increase of Fuel Surcharge
For the past months, the global jet fuel and crude oil prices have continued to steadily increase. The U.S. Gulf Cost Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel Spot Price further rose from $1.85 per gallon in February 2018 to $2.02 per gallon in April, a +9.2 percent increase. The current jet fuel high is expected to continue for the 2018 summer schedule.
As a result, DHL Global Forwarding has received increases in the fuel surcharges of our airline partners, which will be reflected in an increase in DHL Global Forwarding’s own Standard Fuel Surcharges, effective May 31, 2018:
|Service||Currency||Current Rate||New Rate||Effective Date|
U.S. International Airfreight
|USD||1.10||1.2||May 31, 2018|
|U.S. to Australia||USD||1.20||1.35||May 31, 2018|
U.S. to Central America, Mexico and Caribbean Air Freight
|USD||1.05||1.05||Oct. 23, 2017|
|U.S. to South America Airfreight||USD||1.27||1.37||May 31, 2018|
These increases will be applicable to all customers with rates based on the Standard Fuel Surcharge and shipments to the destinations in scope.
We will continue to work with our airline partners to keep rates at a competitive level. Should the fuel surcharges of our carriers reduce, we will make downward adjustments accordingly. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
