Increase of Fuel Surcharge to Australia and Colombia
The market is still continuing to see steady increases in the global jet fuel and crude oil prices. Over the last three months, from November 2017 to January 2018, the price increased by an additional 10.91 percent. As a consequence, in January, the U.S. Gulf
Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel Spot Price rose above $2.00 per gallon for the first time since December 2014.
As a result, DHL Global Forwarding continues to receive increases in the fuel surcharges of our airline partners. Due to recent carrier fuel charge increases, DHL Global Forwarding will increase its own Standard Fuel Surcharges to Colombia and Australia, effective March 5, 2018, as follows:
These increases will be applicable to all customers with rates based on the Standard Fuel Surcharge as shown above and shipments to the destinations in scope. Separate customer fuel surcharge agreements or all-in rates will not be affected.
We will continue to work with our airline partners to keep rates at a competitive level. Should the fuel surcharges of our carriers reduce, we will make downward adjustments accordingly.
