Piloting the Fastest Aerial Challenge on the Planet

When it comes to exhilarating spectacles, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship is certainly one of the world’s best.

Whether it’s flying under the iconic Chain Bridge on the river Danube in Budapest or above the bay of the historical navy city of San Diego, pilots vie to beat the clock in a series of races at iconic destinations around the globe.

Using the fastest, most agile, lightweight racing planes, pilots hit speeds of 370kmh while enduring forces of up to 10G as they navigate a low-level slalom track marked by 25-meter-high, air-filled pylons.

It’s all about speed, precision and skill and the same is true for the logistics race behind the scenes. As the Official Logistics Partner of the Red Bull Air World Championship, we use our expertise and experience to transport not only the finely-tuned, lightweight race planes but the team’s extensive equipment and event infrastructure including spare parts, fuel, and television broadcasting equipment, around the world.

A tightly organized logistics schedule ensures that everything arrives safely and in good time at eight venues in seven countries.

The DHL Fastest Lap Award

To acknowledge our shared goals of speed and precision – and add even further excitement to the series, we launched the 'DHL Fastest Lap Award'. In recognition of the pilots’ phenomenal skill, the award is presented to the pilot who flies the highest number of fastest laps at the end of the season.  In 2016, German pilot and World Champion Matthias Dolderer took the title.
