Enabling the Greatest Racing Spectacle on the Planet
Legendary drivers, racing teams with a rich tradition and racing at the highest level: Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsports. In the 2019 season, 20 drivers are competing for the world championship title in 21 ultra-fast races on five continents – from Australia to Monaco and from Brazil to Abu Dhabi. Hundreds of millions of fans all over the world follow the spectacle on television, online and at the race track.
Top performances are also achieved behind the scenes of a Grand Prix, for example in logistics. DHL is the sport’s longest-standing global partner and has been ensuring the smooth delivery of race cars and equipment for over 35 years – since 2014 as Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1. The 1,000th Grand Prix in April 2019 was the 287th that DHL had been involved in as Official Logistics Partner. Some members of the DHL Motorsports Team, however, have provided logistics services at well over 500 races.
DHL’s involvement is far from being limited to logistics. As a global partner, DHL also helps fans experience unforgettable moments on and off the track. As of 2017, the thrill of Formula 1 can also be experienced at Fan Festivals held in major cities around the world, offering a varied entertainment program away from the race track. DHL is also a founding partner of the F1 Esports Series, which sees gamers of nine Formula 1 teams competing in the 2019 season. To mark DHL’s 50th anniversary, in 2019, the company is organizing the DHL 50 Fastest competition, which gives six participants the opportunity to qualify for the F1 Esports Series Pro Draft.
Last but not least, DHL awards two coveted prizes: at the end of each season, the driver with the fastest laps is presented with the DHL Fastest Lap Award, while the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award goes to the team that most consistently achieves the fastest pit stops over the course of the championship.
